Seniors' Match report: v. Louth

As our ‘Match Season’ drew to a close, we entertained Louth Seniors for our last match.   The games were all played in good spirit, and we didn’t get too wet!   The course as usual was in very good condition after the heavy rain of the weekend, which again is thanks to John Hart and his team.    What would we do without them!     The opposition were very impressed.

Thanks were also given to the catering staff for the after match meal.    A special thank you to Peter and Miriam Kennelly for providing us with excellent refreshments at the halfway house.   Well done Peter and Miriam.

The result of the match was a win for Blankney  by  4½  to 3 ½ .   Well done the Blankney team.   This means that our final tally is :-  Played 23, Won 12, Halved 5 and lost 6.   An excellent record.

As this was the last match of the season, I would like to thank the Blankney teams who have turned out to support the Club throughout the past months.   We have had a nucleus of people  who have kept the fixtures alive, even when we could only raise 6 or 7 pairs, so once again I thank you all for your support, and hope you will give Fred and Vice Capt. Robby your support next season.
