Seniors' Match Report SEACROFT V BLANKNEY

15TH JUNE 2021-07-04

The second away match of the season and Blankney visited the sea-siders of Seacroft GC at Skegness.

Blankney seniors were made very welcome by the friendly and well mannered sea-siders.

We were delighted to find that the traditional superb hospitality of this venue remained in place.

Coffee on arrival, an excellent halfway house and the superb post match meal were enjoyed by all.

Always a pleasure to play a match upon the rugged terrain of this traditional links course.

Wonderful greens, punitive rough, deep bunkers, dodgy bounces and plenty of run on the fairways.

Also available, a view of the sea and a proliferation of rabbit holes.

And for the Blankney’s, plenty of sand on/in their shoes.

A day of sunshine with a warm zephyr breeze made for good scoring conditions.

Carpe diem.

As Seacroft seized and held, so Blankney lost by five games to one.

With all of the matches played in good humour and hedonistic competitiveness.

Everybody had a fun experience at this event.

No complaints from the vanquished.

Got outplayed by a proficient Seacroft Seniors ‘senior’ team.

The ‘Green Machine’.

Many thanks to those who represented Blankney Seniors.

An exemplar credit to the section in attitude and behaviour.
