Gents Invitation to Ladies and Pro/Captain Challenge

Dear all,

Thank you to all who took part in todays fun event, the Gents invitation to Ladies which was held in horrible conditions, however all that played appeared to enjoy the day with some above average scores being posted.

Congratulations to Clive Lewis and Janet Gordon who won the event with an outstanding 67 beating Simon Smith and Krem Saunders with an impressive 69.  Well played all.

It was nice to see such a vibrant atmosphere in the Clubhouse and thank you to all who stayed for the presentation, hopefully, this is a sign of things to come for future events, which leads me onto Friday 22nd October, The Pro/Captain Challenge Trophy.

All participants are welcome to attend for Bacon Butties and Coffee from 10:00 hours before proceeding to their allocated tees ready to commence a shotgun start at 11:30 hours.  Don't worry if you are not already aware where you'll be starting, there'll be a list on display on the day.  Beer will be served on the completion of your round and the hot Pork Rolls and Eton Mess will be served once the golf is complete.  Festivities will begin thereafter with the presentation of prizes followed by live music by the Snogs.  Look forward to seeing you all there.

Knock Out Competitions and Whiskey Stagger results

Dear all,

All of the finals have now been played for the Knock-Out Competitions and the results are as follows:

The Woodcock Cup was won by Blankney Golf Cub Captain Kev O'Rourke and his playing partner Daz Pigford who beat Daeron Wise and Andy Garner in the final. 

Erik Andersen won the Londesborough Cup beating Tom Standley in the final.

Nige Bottomley and Krem Saunders won the Jack & Eve Cup beating Rod White and Terry McArthy in the final.

Congratulations and well played to all the winners of the above competitions and also to the runners up for reaching the finals. 

Thank you to all who have entered the competitions throughout the year, your support is appreciated and hopefully we will have less restrictions in 2022 and can return to some form of normality.

Next week is the Turkey Trot and it is currently open for entries on V1/HDiD.  This is followed by the Gents Invitation to Ladies on the 17th October 2021 and there is a sign up sheet in the foyer.  On Sunday 24th October 2021 there is a Gents Texas Scramble and I will put the entry sheet up on the notice board this week.  I am trying another new format for this scramble as everyone is aware, they're a fun competition and to add to the fun, all players will be required to get 3 drives in, however, each player will be required to use there 3 drives on a Par 3 a Par 4 and a Par 5.

The results of the Whiskey Stagger are posted in the members section of the Club website but a quick snapshot of the winners are:

Division 1 - 1st David Hornsey  Division 2 - 1st Phil Carelton  Division 3 - Jack Parker.  Well played all.

Lincolnshire Bomber Open

Dear all,

Thank you to all who entered this weekends competition, The Lincolnshire Bomber Open, the turnout was the best of the year with all available spaces booked by Members and Visitors alike, we also ended up with a reserve list for players that had missed the cut off for entries.

Congratulations to S Hyde from Blankney GC and his partner L James from Woodhall Spa GC who won the competition with an impressive 47 points beating Blankney's S Clarke and P McDowell who also had a magnificent 47 points, getting beat by a BB6 of 15 points.  Well played all, some great golf with so many Teams scoring 40+ points on what I'm sure you'll agree was a course in fabulous condition with superb greens which were exceptionally receptive.  Thanks to John and his Team for their hard work and also to Sarah and the Team for keeping us all refreshed at the 19th.

A list of all prize winners is available in the Members section of the club website.  All prize winners will receive High Shop Vouchers and they will be posted out in due course, however, if winning members would like to collect them from the Club, please contact Diane in the office to arrange collection.

Today was a great finale to the Competitions season as we now head into the Winter competitions which consist of the Whisky Stagger, Turkey Trot, Winter League and the Christmas Texas Scramble.

Thanks to everyone who has participated in the competitions this year, your support has been greatly appreciated and I look forward to the continuing support for the remainder of the year and onwards into 2022.

Michael Horton Memorial Trophy

Dear all,

Thanks to all who entered the Michael Horton Memorial Trophy held at Blankney Golf Club on 19th September 2021.

Congratulations and well played to Ian Broad who won Division 1 with a magnificent score of 41 points beating Matt Laws with a gallant 40 points.

The 2nd Division was won by Gary Rosseau with a score of 39 points beating Chris Lawton with a respectable 38 points, well played all.

Again, Congratulations go to Ian Broad who won the Michael Horton Memorial Trophy shooting the best round of the day in both divisions.

Thanks to you all for your support in this weeks competition, your participation is greatly appreciated.

Don't forget, the Lincolnshire Bomber Open is the competition for next weekend and there are a few spaces left, please enter through Diane in the Club Office if you'd like to play, let's make it a sell out to complete the season!!!!!

Presidents Cup Sunday 12th September 2021

Gents,

Thank you to all who entered this weekends competition, the Presidents Cup.

Congratulations and well played to Dave Ramscar who won the Presidents Cup with a magnificent Nett 69, pipping Andy Craft who finished runner up with a gallant Nett 70.

Congratulations also to Craig Toyne who carded the best Gross score of 73 beating Sam Moyses who carded an impressive 74, well done all.

Prizes for this competition will be awarded on presentation Evening as we need to have a buffer zone which allows Graham to balance his books.
