CLUB TEXAS SCRAMBLE SATURDAY 18TH DECEMBER 2021

Dear all,

Concerns have been raised in relation to the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic as some members are not comfortable with the arrangements for Saturdays Club Texas Scramble and would like to protect themselves from mixing with others.  This is completely understandable and in order to reduce the risk I have now completed the draw and will publish it on the website so everyone is aware of where they will start and can make an informed choice of how much contact they have with others.  Any queries, please ring the Pro Shop who will be happy to assist with your enquiries surrounding tee times.

Breakfast will be served between 09:00 hours and 10:00 hours and everyone will be expected to be on their allocated tee ready to tee off at 10:30 promptly (on the sound of the claxon)

The Pro Shop draw will take place on the completion of the golf and this will be followed by the draw from the House and Social.  There will then be a prize presentation for the winners of the Texas Scramble but if you have any concerns you are not obliged to stay in order to collect your prize.

Apologies for the ever changing information, however, it is important that we endeavour to do all we can to protect ourselves and our loved ones from this ongoing and unpredictable disease.

Have a great day on Saturday and best wishes to you all for the festive season, stay safe and be kind to all.

Cheers, Paul

CHRISTMAS TEXAS SCRAMBLE SATURDAY 18TH DECEMBER 2021

Dear all,

The entry sheet for the Club Texas Scramble will be available in the Pro Shop from Sunday 21st November 2021.  It is a straightforward Texas Scramble which is a Shotgun start commencing at 10:30 Hours on Saturday 18th December 2021 and tees will be drawn on the morning of the event at the Registration Table. The Competition is open to a maximum of 32 Teams and the only stipulation of the day is that all players must get 3 drives in and it is open to all sections of the club.  Fancy Dress is encouraged and a prize will be awarded to the best turned out by an independant judge for the day.

The day also incorporates the Pro Christmas Draw and squares are being sold by the Shop Team and the draw will be performed by Alec after the golf so good luck to all who enter.

When entering to play in this competition, please pay your entry fee of £20 per Team when signing up.  Could I also ask you to state if you would be interested in food on the day and if so could you state your Teams preference as to whether you would prefer to eat before golf or after golf.  Once I have a snap shot of preferences it will allow me to liaise with the Catering/Bar Manager in organising the catering for this annual event.  The food is not included in the £20 per Team earlier mentioned as that is for the Golf only but once I am in a position I will inform you what catering arrangements have been made, including the price.

Look forward to seeing you all there on the day, let's finish off the year on a high with lots of festive spirit or at least beer!

Cheers, Paul

Dear all,

Thank you to all who took part in todays fun event, the Gents invitation to Ladies which was held in horrible conditions, however all that played appeared to enjoy the day with some above average scores being posted.

Congratulations to Clive Lewis and Janet Gordon who won the event with an outstanding 67 beating Simon Smith and Krem Saunders with an impressive 69.  Well played all.

It was nice to see such a vibrant atmosphere in the Clubhouse and thank you to all who stayed for the presentation, hopefully, this is a sign of things to come for future events, which leads me onto Friday 22nd October, The Pro/Captain Challenge Trophy.

All participants are welcome to attend for Bacon Butties and Coffee from 10:00 hours before proceeding to their allocated tees ready to commence a shotgun start at 11:30 hours.  Don't worry if you are not already aware where you'll be starting, there'll be a list on display on the day.  Beer will be served on the completion of your round and the hot Pork Rolls and Eton Mess will be served once the golf is complete.  Festivities will begin thereafter with the presentation of prizes followed by live music by the Snogs.  Look forward to seeing you all there.
