Midweek Stableford 15th June 2021

Dear all,

Congratulations to Kevin O'Shea who won yesterdays Midweek Stableford with 40 points beating Tim Naylor who scored 39 points.

Thank you to those who entered their cards on V1/HDiD and to those who didn't please do so in future as by taking 5 minutes to do it assists greatly in me being able to close the competition and publish the results.  When you don't enter your score, I have to go through the system and cards to find out who has and has not entered their scores and I'm sure you can imagine this is a tedious and time consuming process which could be avoided by you taking responsibility for entering your score. Majority of us now have the technology to input our scores but if somebody genuinely can't input their own scores, I will gladly assist and would ask that they make a note on their card stating it has not been entered on V1/HDiD.

Your anticipated assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Paul

Captains Weekend - Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th July 2021

AMENDED INFORMATION FOR CAPTAINS WEEKEND SATURDAY & SUNDAY 3rd & 4th of JULY 2021

Dear all,

Captains weekend is fast approaching and please disregard the previous information written on here about booking which I have now removed.  Sorry for any inconvenience caused if you had already booked in via V1/HDiD.  For those who did, you will have noticed you were only allowed to book 1 player and not 3 which meant you couldn't actually choose your playing partners.

To rectify this issue, we are going "old school" and entry sheets will be placed on the main clubhouse foyer for you to book your preferred slots.  The lists will be there by end of the day tomorrow, Tuesday 15th June.  Again, sorry if this has caused you any inconvenience.

Both days will be singles stableford competitions with the Gents playing from the yellow tees and the Ladies playing from the reds.  Prizes will be awarded in 3 divisions for the Gents, 2 divisions for the Ladies and there will be 2 prizes for the Juniors.  There will be Nearest the Pin prizes on each day and food and drink will be available at the halfway house for your refreshment.  Entry fees are suggested by the Club Captain at £5 per player which is optional and 100% of all monies received will be donated to the Captains' chosen charities.  Donations can be made in the Pro Shop prior to play and there will also be the opportunity to enter the 2's sweep.

It's been a difficult couple of years due to COVID and this has seen many restrictions imposed on us as individuals and on Blankney Golf Club.  We don't know what's round the corner and as you are all aware COVID restrictions have now been extended until July 19th which will encroach on Captains Weekend, however, our Club Captains will be able to host their weekend whilst adhering to Government guidelines.  Here's looking forward to seeing you all on the course supporting this event and making it a memorable occassion for Kevin & Keri to enjoy, especially after the disappointment of having to cancel last year.

Cheers, Paul

Flintham Rose Bowl Sunday 6th June 2021

Gents,

Thanks for another great turnout in Sundays competition, The Flintham Rose Bowl which saw 87 players take the field.

Congratulations to Simon Hyde who shot a fabulous 41 points beating Craig Goodway who shot a gallant 40 points.

The results sheets and 2's analysis have been posted to the Gents section of the Members page on the club website.

Thank you to all who entered their scores via the V1/HDiD app (57 of you) and to those who didn't please try to do so for future competitions as the process is quite easy and takes very little time and effort to do so.  It also assists me to close the competitions and publish the results in a timely manner and it's very onerous having to sift through the cards and enter the scores for those who haven't done so.  There is a guidance sheet in the Pro Shop for how to enter your score so if you're not sure please ask.  Thank you for your anticipated assistance in this matter.

Next weeks competition, The Lombard Qualifier is filling up quite nicely and is worth entering as it will also be used as the second event that gives the winner an opportunity to qualify to play in the LUGC Presidents Day at Woodhall Spa on Wednesday 18th August.

Cheers, Paul

The Charity Cup Open (Members only 2021)

Gents

Thank you to all who played in today's competition, The Charity Cup Open, which saw 50 players taking part.

£1 of everyones entry fee from today, a total of £50, will go to a charity to be decided by the Blankney Golf Club Committee.

Congratulations to Eric Feeney who won today's competition with a nett score of 71 beating Stephen Tizard who shot a nett 73.

As always, the results sheets and 2's analysis can be found in the Gents section of the members page on the Club website.

Today saw the start of the gents entering their scores via V1/HDiD and I would just like to say a huge thank you to all who did this, your efforts are greatly appreciated.

The competitions are now coming thick and fast so please keep your eyes peeled on a Sunday evening at 19:00 hrs as there will always be a competition becoming live and ready for entries.

Tonight at 19:00 hrs the Texas Scramble on 20th June 2021 went live for booking.  We are moving away from putting sheets in the foyer and I have broken the booking zones down so that each consists of 5 booking slots.  Once the competition closes for entries a random draw will be made but, because of the way the system is set up, it gives everyone an equal chance to enter and you will get somewhere in the vicinity of your preferred tee time.

Hope you're all enjoying the bank holiday sunshine.

Cheers, Paul
