Christmas Texas Scramble 2021

Dear all,

Thank you to all who participated in this years Christmas Texas Scramble and I've got to say it was fabulous to see such a full car park with people supporting this annual event.

Thanks to the catering and bar staff for looking after us all prior to and after the event.  Thanks to Alec and Dave in the Pro Shop for booking everyone in to the event and for judging the fancy dress competition (lets not mention the controversey)  and for also making some people very happy with them winning vouchers to spend in the shop for the Pro Club draw.

Well done to the Bar and Social committee, Julian, Laura and Steve for their efforts in the social draw in which Robbie Selway, Blankney Golf Club Chairman won first prize of £50 on his bar card and well played to him for spending it so promptly by getting a very large round in...........

Well done to Craig Toyne, Lee Birkett, James Mackinder and Rob Willerton for winning the Nearest the Pins on the Par 3's, all very impressive shots.

Congratulations and well played to Stumpy's All Stars who won the competition with a magnificent 52.20, beating 3 Wise Men and a Donkey who finished with an impressive 54.45.

The Teams were:

Stumpys All Stars ; Clive Lewis, Andy Talkes, Rob Townsend & Kev O'Shea (I won't mention they wouldn't have won a prize for best mental arithmatic if you'd have seen their original handicap which wasn't even worked out by a PEI.............)

3 Wise Men and a Donkey;  Lee Birkett, Mark Bland, Rick Brown and Richard Tasker (We had a seperate prize for guessing who were the 3 wise men and who was the Donkey, however, we have decided this will remain one of lifes unexplained mysteries............, however, Richard was at a Nativity today and they already had 3 Wise Men.........)

It would be remiss of me not to open up old wounds and congratulate those who won best Fancy Dress and the award went to Ricki Czajkowski, Tony Czajkowski. Jules Palmer and Sarah Love, I've got to say, the decision was contencious, however, the Pro Shop decision is final............

Thank you to you all for your support in this event, everyone seemed to enjoy the day and it was great to see the Clubhouse so full.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, hope the big Fat Lad in the Red Suit is good to you all.

Cheers, Paul

CLUB TEXAS SCRAMBLE SATURDAY 18TH DECEMBER 2021

Dear all,

Concerns have been raised in relation to the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic as some members are not comfortable with the arrangements for Saturdays Club Texas Scramble and would like to protect themselves from mixing with others.  This is completely understandable and in order to reduce the risk I have now completed the draw and will publish it on the website so everyone is aware of where they will start and can make an informed choice of how much contact they have with others.  Any queries, please ring the Pro Shop who will be happy to assist with your enquiries surrounding tee times.

Breakfast will be served between 09:00 hours and 10:00 hours and everyone will be expected to be on their allocated tee ready to tee off at 10:30 promptly (on the sound of the claxon)

The Pro Shop draw will take place on the completion of the golf and this will be followed by the draw from the House and Social.  There will then be a prize presentation for the winners of the Texas Scramble but if you have any concerns you are not obliged to stay in order to collect your prize.

Apologies for the ever changing information, however, it is important that we endeavour to do all we can to protect ourselves and our loved ones from this ongoing and unpredictable disease.

Have a great day on Saturday and best wishes to you all for the festive season, stay safe and be kind to all.

Cheers, Paul
