Ladies Welcome

Blankney Golf Ladies Captain 2021 - Keri Clarke

What an honour to be the Blankney Golf Club Ladies Section Captain for 2021.  On behalf of myself and all our ladies I would like to extend a warm welcome to those ladies who are considering joining Blankney Golf Club.

Our rolling parkland course offers the opportunity to play throughout the year and enjoy both a social and competitive round of golf.  With our fabulous trees and diverse wildlife there is always something interesting to look at - whether it is rowan berries or walnuts on the trees in autumn, fieldfares and redwings in winter, hares boxing in the spring or the chance to see our barred grass snakes in summer.  Throughout the year the course is kept in the best possible condition by Course Manager, John Hart and his fantastic team.

As a Ladies Section we have drawn weekly competitions throughout the year, which are held on Wednesdays with additional tee times set aside for ladies on a Saturday.  Our major trophy competitions are typically held on Sundays throughout the summer months with the winter months set aside for our Winter League matches and Winter Warmer fun competitions.  We have a very active Ladies Section with 2 teams playing in County League matches.  We also play friendly matches and mixed friendly matches against many of our local clubs.

In "normal years" we have three ladies open competitions as well as several mixed open competitions so do come and join us if you are able to.  Our PGA Professionals, Graham and Alec Bradley are very approachable and extremely helpful to both members and visitors alike.

Club Captain Kev O'Rourke and I have chosen LIVES as our charity for this year.  LIVES is a Lincolnshire charity that supports an army of highly trained and dedicated volunteers who deliver vital care in those first critical moments of a medical emergency before handing over to the ambulance service.

As, so eloquently written by Past Ladies' Captain Coral, no-one works alone at this job, so I too would like to thank all the ladies who give their time and support in ensuring that our Ladies Section continues to flourish.  Lastly, I would like to thank Coral for inviting me to accept the honour of being your Ladies Captain for 2021.
