Gents Winter League and upcoming competitions

Dear all,

The Winter League for the Gents ended today with a Ryder Cup style format between League A and League B in which League A prevailed, winning the match 6 points to 5.  Thank you to all participants, I'm sure you'll all agree that throughout the winter all matches have been played in a great spirit with the competitors bringing the Club House to life after the matches with their tales of woe over a couple of well deserved pints and a bite to eat.  The catering/bar over this period has been exemplar by Paul and his Team who have provided an excellent service, thank you for your efforts, they have been greatly appreciated and well received by all.

Onwards and upwards, however, the season is nearly upon us with the Captains Drive In which is due to commence on Saturday 5th March 2022.  The Captain, Mr Stuart Askew will Tee off at 11:02 and it would be good to see as many members on the 1st Tee at approximately 10:45 Hours where nibbles will be provided and see him hit a Worldie (or not) to start his season as Captain of Blankney Golf Club. There is still time for you to enter to take part in this competition via V1/ HowDidiDo or on the notice board in the main foyer.  There is also a sheet on the notice board in the main foyer where you can guess the length of the Captains Drive.  When doing so, it would be appreciated if you can make a donation to the Captains Charity which will continue to be Lives.

Please keep your eye on the main notice boards over the next week as the sheet for the Texas Scramble on the 20th March will be posted as well as the Woodcock and Jack & Eve Cups, which are the Gents Foursomes Knockout and the Mixed Foursomes Knockout.

I will also post guidance on how to enter competitions/view results etc.  Please take the time to read it as I will not be deviating from this process for the reasons stated.  If you are unsure of anything in the guidance, please feel free to contact me in order to address any queries you may have.

Cheers, Paul.
