Club Open Am-Am Sunday 1st August 2021

Gents,

Thank you to all who played in the Gents Am-Am on Sunday 1st August 2021.

It was great to see a full field with all slots taken by Members and Visitors in what was the first Gents Open post Covid and it was pleasing to hear all of the positive comments about the condition of the course and thanks go to John and the Greenkeeping team for their efforts.  It was also nice to see so many people in the Clubhouse enjoying the refreshments pre and post round so thanks also to the bar and catering Team for looking after us all.

Congratulations to the visiting Team of T Smith, S Turnell, L Field & S Carn from Gedney Hills who won the competition with an impressive score of 100 points beating their nearest rivals, M Davies, P Stothard, B Jaffrey & M Mackenzie from Belton Park by 5 points.  3rd place went to B Graham, R McGrath, A Barker & J Bush from Holme Hall GC also on 95 points, getting beat by a BB3 on countback.  Teams from Blankney filled the remaining prize spots and they were, in 4th place T Scutt, J Skeet, D Wise & M McKinstry with 94 points followed closely by A Long, M Ceconi, A Akenga & M Fish (Gainsborough GC)

Other prize winners of the day were Mike Barton, NTP on 7, Manuel Ceconi NTP on 10, R Hodgkins (Wollaton Park) NTP on 13 and Daz Pigford NTP on 16.  G Robinson of Messingham Grange won the longest drive on the 18th and I'm sure all who played will have been impressed when they finally reached the marker, we measured it at 347 (Good Drive Sir)

As always, results will be posted in the Gents section of the club website and Blankney Club Members will be able to collect their prizes from the Pro Shop and the Visitors will have theirs posted out to them.

Next weekend we have a Club Florida Texas Scramble which is open to all sections of the Club and any combination can be used, spaces are fast filling up so if you haven't yet entered please do so at your earliest convenience in order to avoid disappointment.  Please also remember the Michael Parker Cross Country Challenge is taking place on Thursday 12th August and this will be followed by a BBQ.  Looking forward to a good turnout for this fun event, let's show our support to the Club President and make it a great evening.

Thanks again for your support.

Cheers, Paul
