Captain's Welcome

Captain's Welcome 2021

A warm welcome to all Golfers is assured at Blankney Golf Club from the Golf Professionals, the Bar, Kitchen staff and your fellow Golfers.  The course provides a fair challenge for all handicap levels, in particular the slopes and contours on the greens always provide an interesting test.  You will enjoy your game come rain or shine, as Blankney copes remarkably well with wet weather, and usually remains open for play when all around are struggling to cope, as noted during the excessively wet season of 2019.  The course is presented in excellent condition all year round by the Head Greenkeeper John Hart and his team, who are always striving to enhance your enjoyment of the course.

We offer competition golf throughout the year for Gents, Ladies, Seniors and Juniors, and plenty of social team competitions, including mixed events.  Blankney Golf Club also competes in inter-club team events for all these groups.  There is a popular coaching session for Juniors at the weekend, please check with the Pro to join in.

Our PGA Professionals Graham and Alec Bradley offer golf lessons and advice on all matters golf, and there is a well stocked Pro Shop to cater for your clothing and equipment needs.  The charity supported by the Captain and Ladies Captain is Lincolnshire LIVES, it provides crucial medical support for the Emergency Services in the County, and we are pleased to raise funds for this worthy cause.

All in all there is plenty for both members and visitors to enjoy, and we hope you will.  To complement the golf your round may be enahanced by the delightful sight of Red Kites, Buzzards and Owls soaring majestically above.  Occasionally you may glimpse a Muntjac deer meandering across the course, where Pheasants and Hares also abound.

I wish the Ladies Captain Keri and Seniors Captain Robbie an enjoyable year, and I hope that all players enjoy the golf experience on offer at Blankney.

Play well,

Kevin O'Rourke, Club Captain 2021
