Seniors' Captain v Vice Captain Match Report

Seniors Noticeboard : Seniors' Captain v Vice Captain Match Report

Seniors' Captain v Vice Captain & Captain's "Drive In" yesterday 3rd March. It was a really good day. 42 members turned out and even more to see me drive off in bright sunshine. The weather behaved itself almost all the way through the day but it got a little chilly at the back end. My drive went 186 yards according to John Thompson's trolley gauge, mind you he did meander a bit, and George Foster got it spot on and won the whisky. I tried to give a prize to the person whose guess was the furthest away from the 186 and eventually that turned out to be John Morgan and he got a miniature. I collected £40 for the charity and adding that to the £50 I collected last year rounds up to a not bad £90, so thanks to all for their generosity.

The match resuled in a win for The Seniors' Captain's side by 6.5 - 3.5.

Two seniors didn't turn up even though their names were on the list, which meant that the two remaining players, instead of being included in the match just played together. It would be nice to stress that if an individual is unable to make a match then a phone call to either myself or John Thompson would make things much easier and also not put me in an awkward position!!
Lastly, the match the Seniors against the club on Saturday the 12th starting a 12:00 has only 9 names on it. The club has 14 so far and I would like there to be a better response from our side of the fence.
