Golf Lessons for the lady golfer are now available EVERY Wednesday at Blankney through the summer months. The classes are from 12pm to 1.30pm and clubs can be provided.

Jessica Wilcox and her playing partner Greg Payne, a plus three handicap golfer from Chobham Golf Club in Surrey, have won the prestigious Sunningdale Foursomes Tournament by winning 7 rounds of matchplay golf over 4 days.

Jessica Wilcox wins in Spain

Jessica Wilcox won the 54 hole Haciendo Del Alamo Women's Open by 6 shots with rounds of 71,71 and 72 beating Emily Taylor from Royal Lytham into second place.

With 3 England players in the field this was a great result which should give Jessica some early season cofidence.

Forty-eight Seniors from Blankney enjoyed the annual away-day at Newark. The weather was as good as could be wished for at this time of the year. A splendid day finished-off with the traditional "cow pie and chips".

In extremely blustery weather 57 Seniors participated in our annual medal competition, The Gilliatt Driver. In spite of the testing conditions Bob Manser came in with a truly creditable nett 67, closely followed into second place by Peter Bennett, who recorded a nett 68.

We did well with the weather, brollies were required by a few of the late starters, but not for long. There were 85 Seniors taking part.

Tuesday 12th July saw an excellent turnout of seventy-seven Seniors take part in the annual Bert Newman Shield. The clear winner was Rowland Ward with 41 Stableford points. In second place was David Sturdy who beat David Wilson into third place on countback, both having returned a score of 39 points.
