Course Update

 WINTER 2012/13

John Hart and his team have had a productive winter making some alterations and adjustments to the course when the weather has allowed.

As we go round the course you wil notice the following:

NEW STEPS ON THE 1ST TEE [soon to be completed]

RE-TURFING ON GENTS AND LADIES 1ST TEE

SOME TREES ARE BEING TAKEN OUT TO THE LEFT OF THE 4TH GREEN. Tree roots have been encrouching the green and taking moisture away during dry times also some roots have been damaging machinery. This will in the long term give a better putting surface.

THE FAIRWAY BUNKERS ON THE 5TH HOLE HAVE BEEN RETURFED AND RESHAPED. Bunkers need renovating every few years with heavy machinery eventually causing the banks to collapseand some bunker bases need to be excavated and replenished.

10TH HOLE IMPROVEMENTS FINISHED WITH CONTOURING TO THE RIGHT OF THE PUTTING SURFACE AND RE SHAPING OF THE BACK RIGHT BUNKER.

THE FIRST FAIRWAY BUNKER ON THE 14TH HAS BEEN WIDENED AND THE RIGHT HAND GREEN SIDE BUNKER RE SHAPED.

THE FAIRWAY BUNKERS TO THE RIGHT OF 17TH FAIRWAY HAVE BEEN UPGRADED AND RE SHAPED.

WINTER POLICY REMINDER.

Just to remind members and visitors of the Winter Policy at Blankney.

When we have frosty conditions there will be trolley/buggy restrictions, the course is inspected every half hour until the retriction is lifted.

During this time we use temporary greens. We have use of all summer tees with no mats all the year round. 

There are no restrictions when coditions are wet.
